  2. Suspended Mid and East Antrim Council chief begins legal action claiming religious, political and sexual discrimination – Anne Donaghy, who has been on precautionary suspension since last month, has filed an application with the Industrial and Fair Employment Tribunal, claiming she has faced religious, political and sexual discrimination (Irish News)
  3. Cleaner ‘unfairly sacked’ after working in Lidl with Covid, tribunal rules – Philip Murphy was fired from his job at cleaning contractor Private and Industrial Services Ltd without a fair investigation or disciplinary meeting, the judge said (Coventry Live)
  4. Fireman who was sacked for racism after he told colleagues Grenfell Tower was ‘full of immigrants’ and said a former boss treated him ‘worse than Jews in a concentration camp’ wins £15,000 as tribunal rules his remark was just ‘socially inept’ – Lee Glyde was Watch Manager at Salisbury Fire Station in Wiltshire when an investigation was launched in 2018 about potentially offensive comments he had made (DailyMail)
  5. Whistleblowing nurse fired after ‘racist’ comments about staff – The experienced Navigo nurse raised concerns about the safety of patients after Nigerian staff were hired, claiming that they were force-feeding patients and falling asleep on shift (Grimsby Live)
  6. Litter enforcement officers urged to target Black and Asian people, tribunal is told – An ex-employee is suing a litter enforcement firm, claiming he was sacked for blowing the whistle after allegedly being told to target ethnic minorities with fines (Independent)
  7. JP Morgan trader who was unfairly fired after being wrongly accused of ‘spoofing’ market manipulation is awarded £1.6million and his job back – Bradley Jones, a cash equities trader and financial analyst, won an employment tribunal in London against the US financial giant (DailyMail)
  8. Tesco pays warehouse worker £800 for unpaid holidays and salary after tribunal – A Tesco forklift driver and picker who began slowing down at his job was dismissed from the company, but took his case to an employment tribunal for wrongful dismissal and pay deductions (Mirror)
  9. Trainer, 64, sues gym for only playing music recorded in last 18 months – A personal trainer sued the luxury health club where he worked for age discrimination because the music they played was too modern (Kent Live)
  10. Private equity worker on £81,000 a year who complained about colleagues ‘blacking up’ as Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act at office Christmas party and alleged she was victimised when she was sacked loses race discrimination case – Harmonie Mulumba complained after a photograph of two male co-workers, whose faces were painted black, was displayed at the company’s headquarters (DailyMail)
